As was expected, the RIAA officially went after Limewire legally late last week. The recording industry is asking for compensatory and punitive damages, such as $150,000 for every song distributed without permission, according to the report. Unlike other p2p outfits such as Kazaa, Limewire has been resistant to efforts to license music industry content and take their service legit, according to the industry.
