Two Senators yesterday unveiled a new broadband bill that aims to reshape broadband laws in this country. Like the proposed Barton bill, the bill gives telcos a national video franchise, and lacks any strong stance on net-neutrality. It also however reforms the USF to help subsidize broadband deployment, and features a number of other key provisions. Most controversial among them is Alaska Senator Ted Steven's latest attempt to bury broadcast flag restrictions in the bill (CNET has more).
