Network and studio execs are all in a tizzy about TiVo's plans to allow subscribers to download TV shows from their TiVos to their PCs and now to their portable devices, like the new iPod. The new service will be an extension of TiVotoGo. "TiVo appears to be acting unilaterally, disregarding established rights of content owners to participate in decisions regarding the distribution and exploitation of their content," an NBC Universal spokesman said. Two guesses why everyone's so upset? Because NBC (DirecTV), ABC (Apple) and CBS (Comcast) are just getting started with deals to sell their content on demand. Gimme a break. Good for TiVo.
