Verizon is launching their coax-fiber Fios TV in Keller, Texas, the first location to get Fios service last fall. The company has released both a channel lineup and a price-guide for their television service. Residents of Keller are being told that they can now sign up for a 2 month free trial; the final effort to work out kinks before broader deployment begins later this year.

Some of the prices at a glance (obviously subject to change per market):

  • Basic 15–35 channels: $12.95
  • Digital Service, 160 channels (+basic package): $39.95
  • "La Connexion" Digital service, 115 channels (+basic package): $32.95

The company is also offering additional add-on packages:
  • Sports Package (15 channels): $5.95
  • Movie Package (26 channels): $11.95
  • Sports/Movie combo (41 channels): $14.95
  • Spanish language package (26 channels): $11.95
  • HD Package: $9.95

On Demand new release films will be offered for $3.95, while library titles will be available for $2.95.

While their channel pricing is great, some of their other installation costs leave a little something to be desired when compared to satellite or cable. While Verizon claims they'll charge users nothing to disconnect FiosTV entirely, they'll charge you $50 (plus $5 per set-top box) if you decide to downgrade from digital to analog. They also note you'll be charged $24.95 to have a set-top box disconnected (+$5 per box).

You can sign up via the Fios TV website to be notified when the service is available in your area. Keep your eye on this thread in our Fios forum for additional information from locals, and first impressions of the service.
