This is the HDR-HC1, a Sony video camera that will be yours in exchange for 1330 of your hard-earned EUR in Japan from July onwards.

This video camera can record HD video in 1080/60i (1440x1080) on miniDV's!!! The most important aspect of this model is that Sony tries to render HD accessible for all, so this is a "compact" model (compared to everything else that is already available) with dimensions of 71x188x94mm and a weight of 680g.

Maybe this is obvious to Japanese speakers but if you look closely in the first large pic on the linked page you can just make out "CMOS". This indicates that the camera doesn't have a CCD (I assume its a one chip camera), that Sony is switching their low end product lines to CMOS chips.
