Where will all the little videos go... PT 2.

Duncan, a new member of our group was smart enough to contact Archive.org to find out about where we could archive our videos. I did the same. Where else but on the internet can you talk to a real live person?

Hello--

I moderate a videobloging discussion group on Videoblogging. It's gotten incredibly popular in a very short time. I believe one of our members have already contacted you about a problem we have: storage..... Where will all the videos go once someone runs out of storage space?

Hello,

We would love to be able to archive blogs. However we do not have a unique model set up for them. At the moment we can crawl your sites and they will be in our web archive (the Wayback Machine). Our current crawler does not always get every bit of a site (especially big video files), however we are going to have a new better crawler soon which will help this. To make sure you are beig crawled by our current crawler, please see this info: http://www.archive.org/about/faqs.php#1 .

Also people can upload videos to our open source movies section of our website here: http://www.archive.org/movies/opensource_movies.php . I would say in the next 6 or 8 months we should be better able to handle video blogs, but for now those two options are the best we can offer.

Regards,
Astrid

So videoblogging is still so new. No one is ready to handle us yet. But these videos that will be made are what our grandkids will crave. The weirder, the more personal, and the more honest the better.
