The Korsakow-System is an easy-to-use computer program for the creation of database narrative films.Korsakow-Films are films with a twist They are interactive - the viewer has influence on the film. They are rule-based - the author desides on the rules scenes relate to each other, he does not create a fixed order. They are generative - the order of the scenes is calculated while the viewer looks at a Korsakow-project. Korsakow-projects can only be viewed on a computer. They are delivered via internet-streaming, DVD-Rom or CD-Rom. The Korsakow-System was invented by Florian Thalhofer in 2000 for the making of the nonlinear documentary the [korsakow syndrom], his final piece at the University of the Arts, Berlin. It is being improved an developed by him and Prof. Willem Velthoven. In March 2003 the Korsakow-Foundation was founded in Amsterdam. The Korsakow-Foundation organizes workshops and takes care about the further development of the Korsakow-System.
