Frank Barnako has tracked down a fascinating study of podcasts. According to the report, those thinking about starting a podcast with an eye to building and audience and making some money from ads should try subjects like family and science and games.  There are fewer than 2,000 programs in these  categories, compared to 11,409 shows in 'politics and news' and 10,342 music-related podcasts.
